Caution: The linear drain sink is extremely heavy (110-145 lbs). Use very careful when handling the sink. The sinks should never be handled by one person. Be careful when turning the sink and avoid putting weight on the corners to avoid cracking or damage to the sink.
The linear drain vessel comes in 2 pieces:
- Main sink
- Drain connection cut out (see photo above)
Installation
- Carefully place the sink in its final location (using at least 2 people). Carefully remove the sink but leave the connection cut out in place. Trace or measure where the drain hole will be located (as an alternative, create a stencil of the size of the sink for positioning purposes so you don’t have to lift/handle the real sink)
- Drill a hole in your countertop surface for the drain. The hole should be 2”
- Remove the drain connection cut out piece. Use plumbers putty to connect your drain to the cut out hole. Make sure the drain is connected well. Once the cut out is connected to the sink, you will not be able to access the drain connection.
- Carefully turn the main sink upside down or on its side to connect the cut out piece.
- Use an epoxy stone adhesive or high strength silicone to fuse the cut out to the main sink. Make sure the connection is fully sealed. Once sealed, you will not be able to access the enclosed compartment.
Recommended product: https://bonstone.myshopify.com/products/fast-set-extreme?variant=18635102145 - Wait for the epoxy or silicone to seal completely before moving the sink
- Carefully pick up the sink (using at least 2 people) and place it in its final location making sure the drain goes through the hole that was drilled. Be careful not to damage the drain or drain connection.
- Once the sink is in place, continue with connection of the drain to the existing or new plumbing
- Apply a thin line of caulking around the base of the sink to prevent water from seeping under the sink (pick a kitchen and bath caulking that matches the color of the sink).
